My godson was convicted of 4th degree criminal sexual contact in April 2011. He took a deal and got sentenced 1 year probation and some fines. (Not that I feel I should make excuses, but the crime was an iffy crime in my opinion and he probably could have won at trial but was scared to take it that far. That being said... ) He received a dui charge a few weeks after his sentencing and goes to court in August for it. He also had a very small amount of marijuana on him. He owned up to it and told his PO. He was ordered to attend some kind of substance abuse program, but missed his second appointment due to work (it was only his 2nd week at the job and it took him 2 months to get a job since he's limited by the felony that shows up in his backgound check). He says he didn't know what to do so he thought keeping a job was more important since it's part of his probation and it's so hard to get another job. However, he never called to inform the program or his PO. The same night he had his scheduled probation appt and when he got there was informed he had violated his probation. He has a court date in a few weeks, but doesn't know what's going to happen and my best friend, his mother, is really worried. Anyone have any clues? I should also mention he has one dirty UA for marijuana.

I would say he is in serious trouble.

So many violations

DUI
Possession of pot
Dirty UA
Missing substance abuse program

So he has at least 4 violations. I would say he is looking at several months in jail at least. To teach him how serious it is to be on probation.

I will be blunt, he is not, he is still using drugs, still with drugs, and has a drinking problem. He felt that going to work was more important than going to jail. So how will he keep that job, after a DUI and lose his license, after the new job knows he is still using pot, and when he goes to prison for a while, sure will hurt the job.

I would say he has not matured and does not take any of this as serious as he needs to. And honestly sounds like he needs some time in jail or a boot camp to make him understand
