I need to know what can be done to help my daughter. She has a 10 month old son with her boyfriend. He is listed as the father on the birth records. He left her and his son for someone else and now she has not income to pay rent and the other bills or unable to support her son. She was going to college and taking care of her son. What can legally be done about this. We live in Arkansas.

She needs to go to Family Court and file for Child Support from the father. She should have done this as soon as the child was born.

They lived together for the first 8 1/2 months since his birth is why she didn't go to child support enforcement.
Thank you. I wish there was something she could do about being stuck with all the bills.

So she should have filed as soon as he moved out.

She can file for welfare, good stamps and ( not sure what it is called there) but aid for dependent children.
She can then file for child support. It will not be back dated, so the sooner she files the sooner it will have an effective date.
It is not criminal, women or men move out from the other all the time.

Since the baby is under 12 months old. One of the programs across the U.S. is called W.I.C.
Women, Infant,Children.
