My dryer is glowing bright orange on bottom left hand corner and is really hot. Is this normal?

No, you are about to have a fire. Unplug drier and disassemble and clean it out. You need to disassemble drier and clean out every part of it. That means to wash out all parts except motor which you vacuum out. Make sure to check your exhaust vent and clean it out, too. Driers are the number one cause of house fires in the US. The job is easy to do and all you need to do is look on YouTube to get directions on how to do it. Buy a belt and replace it while you have it apart. They only last so long and you should replace it every two years or so when you clean the drier. You could probably fill a five gallon bucket with the lint buildup from a drier like yours. DrTom4444
