I'm asking for my mother but my mother has been on a frantic search to find her birth child.. and me being the awesome daughter I am I've agreed to help her out I don't really know where to start I've tried just a general search of her birth name and birthdate I don't even know if she knows she's adopted? I was wondering if anyone could tell me what would be the next step?

There is little you can do, some states allow you to send a letter to be keep with the birth and adoption file if the child searches.

Or you find and post on 100's of the adoption sites hoping they find you

I am in a similar situation as your mother. I gave up my son through a (closed) adoption 25 years ago. I would like to find him, as I always hoped I could meet him again someday. Any resources or tips would be great.

Are you the original poster of this question? If not, I will move your question to its own place so that you can get relevant answers without taking away from someone else's question.

If the child was born in 89, you should be able to register on reunion websites to see if the child is also looking to reconnect.
