I'm a Sargent and a Team Leader in the Army stationed in Iraq. And the question I got is. My
Driver pointed his weapon at several people and pulled the trigger on them and was Courtmartialed and sentenced 30 days in the Brig. And returned to full duty as my driver. Now this kid will not do PT on his on, has to be told to do it. Runs of to medical to get a profile
So he doesn't have to do pt. I try and councel and recremend and Art 15. The command is like why
Bother he doesn't care. The only step I've seen the command take is they issued a BAR on him
Cause he can't pass the APFT. Is this Bastered intitled to VA benefits when he get out?
Or if there is any advice how to deal with this type of person I'd be grateful.

Yes, he's entitled to benefits if he's honorably discharged.

The best you can do is report him to your commanding officer.

First, most of us are not in the army, so we are not aware of the acronyms used.

Second, boy has the army changed if soldiers can get away with that. You should be sitting down with your direct superior (a Lieutenant?) and discussing hos this soldier is disrupting the moral of your unit and the chain of command.

But Judy is correct, if his is giving an honorable discharge, he earns his benefits.
