I had an ear infection in my left ear for 2 days, and then it went away.the next day my right ear was hurting really bad for 2 days until on last Saturday, I was scrating the side of my ear, when I noticed that I saw some clear liquid come out I touched it and it felt greasy. I think it was water but as I tillted my head to the right a good bit was coming out I started sticking my finger in my ear when all of a sudden, I couldn't hear anything just a beep sound. I reach over and scratch my head, and touch my ear,you know moved it around a little bit, and I can hear the thud sound of my hand touching my ear. My mom says I have air in my ear. Im freaking out right now because its my third day like this and it really hurts. I can't sleep at night it bothers me a lot. My mom does this thing to me where you geta news paper and make it into a cone. Once its in a cone you get the pointy tip of it and insert it in your ear. Once its in the ear, you get a match or a lighter and light the bigger end. The smoke takes the air out and makes you hear again. My mom has doe it to me lots of times, and every time she does it, a lot of air comes out, but every time she has done it,Im still the same. I take medicated ear drops from a clinic. I can't stand this pain. I need some help. I can't take it any longer.Is my ear going to be OK? Is it ever going to take off? Do you have any secrets or remedys to take this pain off? I have a pool, and I swim in it often. Is that how the infection started? Please help me Ive tried every thing and still, Nothing works. Please I beg you please.

You may have swimmer's ear and need antibiotic ear drops. Tylenol or ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) can be used to treat the pain until the ear drops take effect. One of our medical experts will be here soon and will correct me if I'm wrong. Do you have a family doctor?
