I am 34 weeks pregnant. My blood pressure has been up in the 140's to 160's/90's when I take my blood pressure at home and in the last week it has stayed in the 150's/90's with I high pulse. I have headaches everyday (all day off and on) and some vision problem daily accompanied with dizziness with no relief from tylenol. I monitor my water intake to make sure that I am hydrated. This has been like this for the last 3 weeks. My doctor has been seeing me weekly since then. However, I feel like because I am not spilling protein he is brushing the issue off. The reason I feel this way is because my bp in the office is lower than when I take it at home. My taking it at home consists of an at home bp monitor that was callibrated with the doctors office and my aunt who is head of her nursing department will take it at night with a manual bp cuff. When I say my bp is lower it is usually in the 130's/80's.

Is there a reason that my bp is different in the doctors office than at home? Also, because I haven't showed signs of spilling protein should I not worry about my symptoms?

If you are having symptoms of headache, dizziness and/or blurred vision, go to the hospital you are to deliver at. You should be monitored for preeclampsia.

Protein isn't the only thing I look for when monitoring my patients with high BP while pregnant. I also do some blood work.

Get this done asap.
