Murphstock

Right, I've had an extremely red face for about 5 or 6 years now. I've checked with a skin specialist and the useless prick just told me that it might be overactive blood cells in my face and it's not rosacea. However he never prescribed anything or even told me to get on with it just left it at that. The redness extends from my cheeks up onto my eyebrows and part of my nose. Can anyone tell me what it's called and how would I get rid of it

I suggest your see another useless prick, murphstock. Or I could recommend you see your doctor, could be you need a blood thinner. We don't diagnose here on AMHD, and I know you won't find this helpful, but murpstock, what can I say. I can't see you, don't know who you are, how old you are, what meds you are on, etc. etc.

Already asked my doctor. She recommended the specialist. I'm 18 and not on any meds. It just appeared one day and never left

I'd visit an internist. Sounds like it very well could be a different kind of health condition that might need attention.

Problem is I'm from Ireland, and I don't think there's a lot of them floating around

Then visit a GP about your facial discoloration, it could very well be due to an autoimmune disorder.

Your doctor will have to refer you to a specialist in England. Is that not doable. Even in Ireland in all major centers there are specialists and good doctors. Ask your doctor, murph. You are covered under medical in the UK, so there is no problem with paying.

Well the major problem is that it costs a good bit to travel to England. Then we have currency exchange and the cost of the doctor. It's a lot of money. Does anyone know if there's a specialsit in Ireland, even in the north?
