We used the kennel training to house train our dog. He hasn't had an accident in the house in several weeks. However, he wakes up twice a night and has wet his kennel before we get there to take him out. Once we hear him bark, we go get him to take him out. I have been having to wash his towel in the kennel every day for the night wetting. He holds it from 930-430. Then we take him out at 430 but again he wet his kennel by the time we get him out.

One thing you have to realize, he is like a human adolescent whereby the bladder has to catch up to the growth spurts. That's why human kids wet beds, their bladders haven't caught up to the body's demand on it and the small bladder can't hold all the liquid. Same with your pet. You will just have to be patient with him, don't chastize him in any way, just get him out as soon as he barks. He knows he has to go and probably doesn't like wetting any more then you do.

What you can do is hold back on the water before bedtime, make sure he doesn't drink a lot.

Dogs that young should be able to hold it all night, but that depends on your feeding schedule. If you feed and let the dog have water all the time good luck with housebreaking it. I would feed it only in the evening and give water in the morning and evening. Control the amount of time the bowls are out.I would give it water and food for 20-30 minutes and then pick up both bowls. Then give it as much time as you can to run around and do it's business. Before you go to bed I'd let it out again if possible. Always feed it the same amount, and the same brand, and if possible, at the same time each evening.If I went to bed at 10pm I'd try to feed it by five or six so it could have plenty of time to do it's business. People will tell you puppies need three meals a day and so on. It sounds good in theory but not user friendly. First off, dogs are not human babies. They are an offshoot from Wolves. Wolf puppies do fine if they eat once a day in the wild and so will your puppy. I don't think mother wolves spend every hour of the day looking for food for it's young. Keep the dog in the crate unless your home. If your home keep it on a very short leash. Dogs don't like to pee and poop and then stand or lay in it. Probably about a foot is all you should give it to keep it from peeing or crapping in the house. It's a simple plan. Simplify what goes in and out. The puppy will do great. Good luck
