Hi,

I've got a plumbing problem and was hoping for some advice on what to do to fix it. Every time someone uses the shower in our second story bathroom about a half gallon of water seeps out onto the floor from the corner outside the tub where the tub meets the wall and floor. The floor and wall are both tiled and the water seeps out through the grout at the meeting of the floor and the wall. The problem only happens when someone takes a shower- baths are fine with no leaks or water on the floor at all. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Any simple fix I can do myself or am I going to have to call a professional? Thanks for any advice you can offer. :)

Make sure the tile grout and the caulk between the tile wall and the tub are intact.

If the diverter is in the tub spout, then it is possible the leak is in the wall where the tub spout nipple is threaded into the tub/shower valve.

Conversely, it may be leaking where the shower arm threads into the 'drop-ear' fitting inside the wall.
