Are there laws out there to keep juvenile sex offenders away from their own siblings? My daughter was sexually assaulted by my step-son. He pled guilty. I had a restraining order prohibiting him from my youngest daughter that I share with my step-sons dad. She was taken off the restraining order today by a judge because he said he hadn't done anything to her yet! I am terrified of him being around her. He has been through no treatment programs yet. Can someone help me?

I would suspect the judge knows the law. How old is this boy, how old are the girls involved? What was the nature of the assault?

There are degrees of sexual offenses and sometimes the nature of the offense needs to be considered. For example: if both girls are pre adolescent and the offense was one of molestation, then I would be surprised at the judge's ruling, but the attacked girl is an adolescent and the other daughter is not, that could be a consideration.

But, if the restraining order is off, then you don't let him around her alone. You educate her that if he tries ANYTHING, she needs to scream her head off. And you make sure he is never alone with her.
