Hi I was on F1 visa last year(2010). I went to school in GA. But did a summer internship in IL for 3 months. I also had a student job while I was at the university. So I have both GA and IL state tax withheld. I filed 1040NREZ and got my federal tax return for 2010. I have still not done any state return. Can I still file state tax returns. If so,which forms do I use. Will I get any return on the 3% IL income tax that has been withheld? Please help.Thanks.

As an international student, by law you are a NON-resident of both Georgia and Illinois.

However, you still must pay taxes to each state for the income earned while located in that state. So, for the 3-motnh internship, you will file an Illinois return, while you will pay taxes to Georgia for the student job.
