I have sole legal custody and joint physical custody of my two girls. Do I have to ask permission to have them taken out of state for a visit of one week?

If the visit interferes with the NCP's visitation rights then yes you do. However, if it doesn't, then you shouldn't need to. As long as the children are ready for their scheduled visit.

I don't think you need to ask permission... you may have to let the other person know that you're taking them off the state for the week.

Thanks you for trying to help, but the legal forums have a higher standard for answers, then some of the other forums. Answers here need to adhere to statutory law, not opinion. In the OP's case whether she needs to ask permission depends on whether it interferes with the NCP's visitation and also the terms of the custody order.
