My brain is totally mashed, I have recurring thoughts night and day, can't sleep on medication because the doctor diagnosed me as anxious and depressed. I have to sort out one problem which then leads to another and I have to work out every detail over and over again, just when I think that problem is solved another one pops into my head, it could be something that happned 10 years ago but it is constant 24-7. My whole life is on hold because I go anywhere I'm still pondering. Does anybody else vsuffer from this and what help can I get?

Stress has put you in an anxious state
If stress has put you in an anxious state or some suicidal tendency develops, medicines may help. I can’t deny their role. But as far your personal problems are concerned; no amounts of drugs or yogic exercises are going to solve them permanently. If you have a problem with your spouse the tell me what the hell a medicine can do.

But we should not be bogged down by these pessimistic thoughts. Rather, we should draw inspiration from the great personalities, who made a mark in the society of their thoughts process. (It was the thinking, which could bring the Mahatma out of Gandhi and the Swami out of Vivekananda.)
