Patti1662 - Unplug the dryer and pull it out from the wall where you can get to the back of it to work on it . ( DO YOU HAVE A OHM METER?? ) You will need one to check the over heat protecter that is on the out side of the heating element case, Some times there are more then one protector. Now if you have a VOLT OHM METER then set it to the RX1scale , To test the heat protector remove one of the wires comeing to it and put one of the meter probes to each one of the terminals that the wires come to :: IF THE METER READS ZERO THEN THE PART IS OK :DO THIS TO EACH ONE THAT IS ON THE CASE OF THE HEATING ELEMENT :: NOTE -( DON FORGET TO HOOK THE WIRES BACK THAT YOU TOOK OFF . This may be your problem < IF not come back on here and we will give it another try, This is the most priable cause. Giood luck and take care and be SAFE, that's 220 volts, :: GOOd luck and GOD BLESS ::F.B.E.

Bac1425 - There are 5 reasons why;;
It could be one of the following 5 reasons and if you are going to do this yourself then you need to know which item 'S are failing and how to test them to find out which is the trouble maker :: #1 - Door switch ) ( #2-
Open circuit in the power cord: () #3 - Faulty
START SWITCH)( #4 -DEFECTIVE TIMER) #5
No power at the power cord WALL OUTLET To test every one ,You will need a ( VOLT -OHM METER) One that will handle 2590 volts >: Lets go :: SET the meter to RX! - Take and unplug the power cord from the receptical. Pull dryer out away from the wall enough that you can get behind the dryer and work , Now #1- take a common screw driver and push it in between the front top panel and the front side panel Pop it up out of its catches :: #2 to check this unit ,remove the TWO wires from it and put the meter where you can see it , Now put a probe to each wire termminal IOf you got a reading of zero it is OK , Replace the wires you took off . #3 -
REMOVE THE CONTROL PANEL :: Now lets test the start switch - REmove the heavy wires ( 2 ) from the start swITCH TERMINALS AND HAVE METER WHERE YOU CAN SEE IT ,TAKE THE PROPS FROM THE METER AND TOUCH THE WIRE TERMINALS WITH THYE PROBS , if
METER READS zero , the SWITCH IS GOOD, IF METER READS HIGH THEN SWITCH WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED :: #4 - LETS TEST THE TIMERT SWITCH- rEMOVE ONE OF THE MAIN WIRE LEADS COMEING TO IT , sET METER WHERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE IT,
TOUVH THE METER PROBES TO THE TIMER TERMINALS AND HA VE SOMEONE PUT THE TIMER ON normal dry, iF METER READS zero ,TIMER IS GOOD, IF HIGH READING IT IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS REPLACED :: #5 - NOW WE WILL CHECK FOR A oPEN CIRCUIT ON THE POWE CORD , THERE IS A SMALL COVER ON THE BACK OF THE DRYER ,WHERE POWER CORD GOES INTO DRYER ,remove
THE SCREWS THAT HOLDS THE COVER PLATE IN PLACE AND SET ASIDE, cHECK THE ELECTRICAL BLOCK FOR ANY BURNT OR BLACKEN AREAS AROUND WIRES , put THE METER PROBES ON THE TERMINALS TO THE BLOCK , if THE METER READS zero CORD IS OK, IF NEEDLE JUMPS AROUND OR READING IS HIGH THEN REPLACE THE POWER CORD :: #6 replace all the wires you have took loose and hook them back up , iF It's a THREE WIRE WITH GROUND WIRE , the two outside wires are the hot wires

I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT , LET US ALL KNOW , gOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE MESSING WITH 220 VOLTS AND IT IS NOT FORGIVEING stay saff. God bless :: F.B.E.
