My pressure gauge says I have 50 psi at the pressure tank, but I'm only getting a trickle out of my faucets. Everything was working fine until this morning when I tried to stretch out the cut-out / cut-in range by manipulating the adjustment screws on my Square D Pumptrol to reduce the number of pump cycles. I hear the well pump going on, and see the pressure rising on the gauge, so I believe the gauge. There must be some kind of new restriction that developed between the gauge and my fittings in the process of my repeatedly turning off the power to the pressure switch and adjusting the screws. Any ideas? One other observation: Even though the water is just trickling out of the faucets (and eventually stops), the pressure on the gauge remains high (i.e. drops VERY slowly).

How often was the pump cycling before you tried to adjust things? Have you change the tank air pressure? If you press the needle of the air valve do you get air or warter coming out?
