My husband just went to prison a little over a year ago... I was angry and depressed.. and I wasn't in my right mind... my dad was taking me to court for grandparent rights to see my children... my in-laws kept telling me my father was going to take my kids and run with them and I will never see them again... they kept telling me if I sign them over my children will be safe.. and I can still see them and keep them when they arnt in school.. now I'm not aloud to see them or call them... ive raised them their fist five years... they are now five and four... my children went through a open adoption and now my in-laws have my girls... is there anyway possible I can get them back... it will be a year in July... please help me...

You need an attorney. Generally adoptions are final. Only an attorney can look at the adoption agreement and see if there is reason to overturn.

You would probably have to PROVE that you were coerced into signing those papers.

I've been through an open adoption, and frankly--they TELL you in court that you will have NO rights BEFORE you sign those papers.

You need a GOOD attorney to have ANY chance of getting your children back. And you will have to PROVE that you were coerced into signing the papers.

Ok, so one grandparent ( your own parents) were fighting for visits , I wonder why you did not let them see the children and they had to fight to get a court order ?

If they would have ran off, you could have called the police and charged them with kidnapping.

But you choose to give up the kids, and unless the adoption gave you any rights to see the kids, then you are basically just out of luck,

Did you have any legal representation during this time
