In the recent wind storm a 100' fir tree fell on my shed crushing my 13 year old Duerr chipper(shredder, blower, bagger). I have an insurance claim and am supposed to locate the approximate original price of the machine. I am using my brother-in-laws computer to try to locate you for some answers. It is most important that I at least get some kind of estimate of the cost of a 8.5HP /commercial grade and has a little D-19 also on the machine. It's quite crushed and I have the pictures and have had the adjuster come to estimate the tree removal and fence losses, but I need the information on the machine. Please help me as soon as possible, I have been working on this issue for about a month now!
Thank you so much!
Sue Taft

Ps though it was 13 years old, it still had the original plastic on the handle and had not been used very much prior to the crushing event of December 2006.

Duerr was bought by Global Development International it looks like they mainly deal with larger equipment now but you can contact them and ask if they can give you a approximate value on your chipper/shedder, Global Recycling Equipment P.O. Box 399 Streator IL 61364 Phone # 815-674-5802

If you are looking for a home for the pieces of your damaged machine let me know my machine could use some parts that may have survived your tree incident

Sue, I think that you should put the adjuster on the trail of the value. And if it doesn't sound good, then investigate it. Sorry I don't have any info on this.
