Hello. A day ago my speedometer cable broke on my Harley Sportster. Right after that I noticed the turn signals wouldn't self cancel. Are these two related. Don't the turn signals operate by distance? With no speedo working there can be no distance calculation right? Thanks.

Yes they are related. I don't know how they work but I had my speedometer replaced once with an aftermarket unit. The self canceling didn't work. I checked with the shop and was told I had to get a Harley unit to make self cancel work.
