Morning guys... I have just replaced the original ceiling roses in a domestic wiring loop system, most roses have 2 , 3 or 4 cables which needed resorting to get the switched live into the right connector, the so called registered electrician I paid over 100 quid to , to install a few ceiling fans failed to mark the switched live. They have all been done OK. But one light is causing me headache.
The second lounge light (the first has 3 cables, divided as 3 red, 3 black , 3 earth) has only the standard 3 cables coming from the ceiling and I can't for the life of me figure out how that would fit into a loop. Ive tried connecting the rose in just the standard LNE configuration but that doesn't work, so I'm wondered how on earth it figures in. I should add that it appears to be connected to a wall mounted dimmer switch, so I'm wondering if there is actually a switched live on the light circuit or whether the switched live is at the dimmer switch... any ideas?
