How can I find my granddaughter? {personal info removed} I did not know she was adopted out for sure until after is had already been done. I received photos from the adopted parents once with no return address and I have heard nothing sense. I do not know where else to turn for help. {personal info removed} I would very much appreciate any and all help. Because my house burned down I have no photos of her or her sister from when they were little. {personal info removed}

How old is she now?

If she is under 18, you CAN NOT find her--unless one of the biological parents has contact.

Grandparents do not have rights to minors placed for adoption anyway. You could not have stopped the adoption and you probably could not have influenced the parents.

My suggestion is to talk to your child that is the biological parent and ask about your grandchild that was placed for adoption.

My daughter went through hell with the authorities in Libby MT over keeping custody of her children. She had the two girls living alone after finding out that their father had been molesting them.Then divorced him two years later the state decides to take the girls. My second eldest daughter is raising the younger girl only because the state kept the older grandchild. She tried to get both of the girls at the same time for visitation but they would not allow it. So only one got to escape being placed in the system. This whole scenario took three months from the time the girls were placed in foster care and not being able to whisk both girls out of Montana and to New Mexico where family could take the girls in. The state of Montana would not even consider letting one of the girls aunts raising them. We tried every thing but they then said that the adoption would be open and there would always be communication by mail or email.

If CPS is involved and the child is still a minor, you need a lawyer to enforce the open adoption.

We cannot help you search for a minor. The adoptive parents are the LEGAL parents of the child. And honestly, YOU might not be able to do anything--your daughter may be the only person included in the open adoption arrangements.
