Her pad could be bruised.

Her muscles could be very sore.

Her joints could be strained.

Her ligaments could be strained/pulled.

There is more to a leg then just a bone. Please contact your vet soon to see why she is limping. It could be nothing... or it could be very severe.

There could be any number of things wrong with your dog. First, check the pad on her foot, her nails & between her toes to look for anything unusual. If you see nothing there then slowly check the inside and outside of the leg for any lumps, scratches, cuts, swellings or painful areas. If you don't see anything then a trip to the vet is probably in order if it doesn't improve within 12 hours. She could have a small fracture that isn't visible. She could have pulled a muscle. She could have nerve damage. She could have arthritis or bursitis. There is just so many things that it could be that the best call is to seek veterinary help... especially if she doesn't make any improvements over 12 or 24 hours at the most.

Good luck, and please let us know what it might be.

Hugs, Didi

Limping?. all the things already suggested, plus a possible broken toenail. If she is licking her foot, check the nails on that one. She may have dislocated her knee-cap, or strained a knee ligament, or something involving the hip area may even be the source of the problem.

If it's a toenail, it needs to be removed, otherwise it will continue to hurt, become infected, and not really heal properly. The nail will grow back, at least I have never seen one fail to regrow and I have removed quite a few broken ones.

If the limp persists you should have her vet take a look at her.
