I was taking birth control pills for the month of April and I didn't get my period that month but did feel cramps and stuff like that. So I started taking the birth control pills around the 4th or 5th of May, then I started feeling sick. I had nausea and things like that so I was kind of wondering maybe I'm pregnant so on the 21st of May I confirmed it and I was positive I am pregnant. So what I want to know is because I was taking the pills not knowing I was pregnant do the pills affect in any way the baby I'm carrying?

Try not to worry as it happens more often than you might think. The pill is not 100% effective, so women will find they become pregnant while using it, even when used correctly.

It is also recommended for a woman to continue taking the pill as directed if she has an off cycle, or a missed period, until a pregnancy is confirmed as it could just be an off cycle.

I know it was unexpected, but congrats! Wishing you a smooth and easy pregnancy... :)
