I have a ceiling fan which was working fine but one day I touched the reversible switch since then it does not turn on. I was thinking if I disconnect the reversible switch then it might come back on.

You can bypass the switch but disconnecting will insure it will never run a again. What color wires go to the switch? What fan brand and model do you have, maybe we can get you an OEM replacement part.

It has a blue wire , a white, a black and a red one. It is SMC Model F52.
