Example needed on how to answer a summons to a credit card company - can anyone provide me a example for this -- I need just a generic one to give me a idea on how this needs to be done. Much appreciation to anyone who could help me. Thanks.

More details would help. But generally you ask for verification of the debt and state your intention to defend.

Not really as I need a sample example of the answer... do you know where I can find this or do you have this information??
What is happening is that a friend got a debt consolidation company to help pay off the debt, one debtor (Sears) is requestion an answer for a summons -
Does this additional information help?
Thanks.

A little, but not enough. Obviously the debt consolidation company DID NOT pay off the debt, since at least one debtor has sued him. But if he has already admitted the debt, then there is little he can do. If they won't accept a settlement, then they will win the suit and get a judgment.
The answer to a summons depends on your defense of the case.
