Do hope this is in the right place, sorry if its not, my wages were paid into my bank account today, looking at the account this morning the money was there, I even paid bills with it, by this afternoon the money had been taken back:( the reason was because they had said I had been paid too much, they said they had cancelled the transaction on the 23rd, but the money was in my bank on the 26th, the bank are saying its nothing to do with them wages are saying it's the banks fault for not cancelling, then the bank said they should not have gone back into my account with out my say so, is this true:confused: wages were very unhelpful in fact I felt bad asking for my money.
Any help would be gratfull

They either owe you the wages or don't owe you. Also if this is a direct deposit, and the funds first hit today, they are normally still pending and you should not write off them, even if they appear "in" the bank.
I know often on my direct deposit it shows up in the morning but is pending, it will drop off about mid day for a few hours and then it comes back as completed deposit in the afternoon. This happens about 3 out of 5 pay periods.
But if they did not owe the money to you and cancelled the direct deposit and the bank errored in putting it in, then they were correct to remove them.
So if they did not owe you any money, you would not get wages, if they owed you money, this is up to the people paying you the money, not the bank,

Hi
I am owed my months money, its was more than usual, but as I don't have my wage slip, I thought I might have had a rebate. The amount overpaid was about 100pound.the money was in my account I had nothing in there so the bank would not have let me draw on it if it had not cleared
