View Full Version : Furnace blows; air conditioner doesn't

Got a problem. The outside air unit turns on at digital Honeywell thermostat, however, the fan inside the furnace does not blow any air at all through the vents. I don't have a problem blowing heat through the house, just cold air.

I've been trying to find a wiring diagram so I can check the AC wires coming into the furnace so I can troubleshoot but no luck, so far. Any ideas what color wires are to be matched up for the blower motor to start when when the air is on?

One more thing, when I have the thermostat set to 'cool', it makes no difference if I set the fan to 'auto' or 'on'. I also set the thermostat to 'off' and set the fan to 'on' and the fan did not turn on.

Any help in helping me figure this out or direct me to somewhere I can find a wiring diagram.

So if you set your furnace to heat and up the stat you get hot air blowing, right? Try upping the stat on heat and then set stat to ON rather than AUTO. Does the fan keep running and running and running?

Yes, that is correct. Heat works as it should with van ON and AUTO. A/C doesn't blow through the vents.

OK but if you now lower the stat setting to maybe 60 degrees, still set on heat, and leave the fan on ON will the fan keep running 24/7
