How long will an inmate have to serve before getting out on probation violation. They revoked his probation which he had 7 years left.. He has just been sent to the Georgia diagnostic's prison.

He can serve not just what was left on the probation but up to the entire sentence he got on probation.

GA Diagnostic prison at Jackson is just a starting point where he will be classified. It would appear it will be for at least longer than one year ( or they would not have sent him to prison but keep him in country jail)

But at the hearing for his probation violation they Judge would have told him how long it was for. So when he contacts you, he will have a max release date, and possible parole release dates
