I want to move my laundry tub. There is a small metal tube (about 1/4") coming from the bottom of the taps. It then is simply fitted into a rubber tube that runs down to the floor. It is behind the base 2/4 of the wall so I cannot see if it goes into the floor or along the wall behind the 2x4.

I pulled forcefully (but not too much) on the rubber tube, and it did not budge.

I have an air conditioner outside, but all the tubing/wiring for it seems too far away for this to be a part of that.

We also used to have a gas dryer, but no longer do.

Can someone tell me what it is? If I need to extend that tubing when moving the laundry tub? Or just cut it off and cap it?

Before you can do anything you have to find out what that 1/4" goes to. A floor drain trap primer comes to mind. This insures that the trap seal in your floor drain will never evaporate. Let me know, Tom

I checked the floor drain in the laundry room, and YES, there is a small plastic tube.
When I run the tap, and check the floor drain, there is water coming out of it!
