View Full Version : Am I pregnant? Negative test but every sign in the book!

So I have recently had extremely sore breasts around the nipple area (I mean I can barely walk because their own weight pulls on them so much)nausea in the mornings and/or evenings, and my last actual "period" was really light and spotty for the first half (2 days) and a steadier redder flow the last half (also 2 days) which is strange. I mean I have my period down to a friggin science :P

I went to take a Planned Parenthood test yesterday and it came up negative. Abnormal period was two weeks ago. Shouldn't it have come up positive if I really was pregnant because of how long the pregnancy would be sitting in there? I am so freakishly confused. I thought maybe I had made up all of the physical symptoms that point to pregnancy (usually takes a negative test to show me and the made up symptoms go away) but this time they are still ever-present and annoying because I feel like crap until the afternoon and I can barely cuddle with my fiancé because of the breast pain. Its about 18 or so days until my next period and the last unprotected intercourse we had was Apr. 30th.

PP said I am right in that window of possibility and that I should go back next week. I am scared but excited all at the same time. Anything at all that you can tell me to help this rough time make sense would be great.

Have you asked for your doctor for a blood test? These are very accurate!

I haven't because I have no money and actually no regular doctor to speak of. I wanted to get the blood test along with the urine test when I have to go back next week but I hear they are expensive

Well if you wait until next week, even a urine test will be pretty accurate as the HCG hormone will have highered a lot but I can understand you hurry to find out now lol sadly I guess you will just have to wait, one week isn't too long though, keep busy! :)

For any test to be the most accurate it's best to wait until you actually miss your period.
