What is the grammar correction symbol if someone spelled a word wrong? I need answers, and fast please!!

My English teacher gave us a sheet on this. Basically, you just cross the misspelled word out with this sort of loop symbol. It's hard to describe in words, but you start at the beginning of the word, curve downwards and then upwards into a loop, back down and then curve up at the end of the word. You should end up with one loop; the rounder part should be pointing upwards.
