Hello all,
I just joined this forum because I am trying to avoid going to a doctor or derm (but probably will end up going). I am a male in my mid 20s and lately I am been growing these thicker white facial hairs in a several areas: chin, left side of moustache area, and goatee area. When I use a tweezer to pull these hairs, a thick white/clear substance extends from the root to where the hair began growing above the skin's surface. Also, after tweezing these white/clear thicker facial hairs, a small amount of blood will discharge from the pore where the hair was pulled. The blood only comes out with some of these hairs, not all of them. Some additional background info that may help... Over six months ago I had a pretty serious about of fungal infections which cleared up (I think). First, I had ringworm on my left leg, then jock itch afterwards, which cleared up. While these were clearing up, I think I got mild seb derm on my face and possibly mild rosacea (both self-diagnosed, unless they worsen there is no need to see a derm). Not sure if these were related to the ringworm and jock itch. Now the seb derm is very mild, but the rosacea still lingers but is not bad at all (mainly slightly redder skin on nose). However, now that all of these problems seem to be getting better, I am experiencing these weird facial hairs I mentioned above. Has anybody experienced this before? Any ideas? I am starting to think the fungal infection still lingers and is mainly affecting my face at this point. Maybe this is all related to the bad ringworm and jock itch I had before.

Oh, I do want to add that these thicker white/clear facial hairs are not accompanied by any pimple or cyst which is why I do not think it is a true ingrown hair. The hair is also not curly, it is straight. I have never had any major problems with acne or ingrown hairs in my life. Thanks.

I think you should go see your Doctor, who will give you a correct diagnoses, rather than self diagnoses which may not be the right one...
