Due to state/mail not sending/delivering my renewal for car registration, I forgot and accidentally let it expire (only 2 weeks) a cop (a real *** too) pulled me over (I don't know how they could have seen a small sticker from how far back they were) and wouldn't give me just a warning ( I offered to drive right to dmv - I did anyway) the cop wrote the wrong violation and code on the ticket (said driver's lic expired). I'm in fl and although it won't go on my record if I prove I'm up to date I still have to pay $114 (for court costs). Is there any way of beating this totally since I can prove the I was NOT in violation of the citation the cop wrote me. I'm sick of this fl attitude well we won't put it on your license but we still want money. Anyone can make an honest mistake (the cop proved it for me)Any advice on how to get out of paying and have ticket dismissed. Can they amend the violation. I paid my registration within 20 minutes of ticket. Thanks

Generally if you go to court and prove that you have amended the problem (no insurance, expired registration, inspection etc.) they will dismiss.

Go to court and play innocent. Show them your license and point out the expiration date.
