I have a question about a noise in my dishwasher(Kitchenaid, model KUDPO1LBS3). The noise sounds like the noise an electric ice cream maker makes. It still washes dishes OK. A technician from the appliance store where I bought it listened to it and said the bearing or bushing in the motor was worn and was making the noise. It makes the noise when in the washing cycle but the noise stops when the water is being pumped out. It seems to me the same motor is running the pump?

The dishwasher has a drain pump and motor separate from the wash pump. Take the top off the pump and you will probably find something down in there, such as a piece of broken glass or a piece of bone, etc.
