I have a Kenmore gas dryer model 417.94042500 which will not even tumble, let alone produce heat. It is plugged into the same circuit as my washer. The breaker in the house seemed to have been tripped off, I reset it and now the washer runs fine, but the dryer does not acknowledge that it even has power.
Is there an internal fuse or reset switch which might get triggered by a power spike or lightning?

If they are both plugged into the same outlet, make sure that both halves have power. There is a door switch, start switch, thermal limiter. All of these have to be working to allow the dryer to start. You will need to test them using a VOM. What is the amperage of the breaker. It should be a single breaker Yes?

Plug the drier into the half of the receptacle that the washer is plugged into. If it does not work then you need to take the drier apart to find open safety or switch. If it is over two years old or has had heavy usage it could be dirty and require cleaning and a new safety for the heat limiter. DrTom4444
