I am a single parent caring for two daughters,14 yrs and 24 yrs old.The elder,24 yrs old and severely mentally handicapped so I am her carer.Although I receive help from the local authourity,I care for her for the majority of the time, hence, I am unable to go out to work.I receive benefits as a carer, aprox £55 a week and CB,approx £20 a week.My IS is approx £80 a week. This all amounts to approx £160 per week.
My disabled daughter receives about £100 a week on IB and about £80 on DLA and when added to my income amounts to £340 per week.
This sounds like a comfortable income until you consider the outgoings.I am in control of my daughters income so I inevitably add it to my own.Her transport to and from social care and provision of care has to be paid for.Curricular activities,(which are mostly social adaptationed related)have to be paid for.Due to her disabilities, she requires intense stimulation and activity and all I can afford is cable TV and the odd day out.
I have tried to provide a safe home where she is not rediculed and picked on as the council in the area I previously lived in has not
Been able to do so.
Hence,I am privately renting.I receive £636 Hb but my rent is £750 per month.I have been managing so far even though it's been difficult at times,my girls have been well looked after.I am a Caribbean woman and my culture is based on family and survival.
Now I get to the reason of my inquiry.I am sorry if I digressed but I wanted to explain my total situation so there didn't have to be a million questions asked.
Two of my sons who have peviousy lived abroad with their paternal grandparents, have come to the UK to visit.Unbeknownst to me,the intententions of their father, was to deny them return to their grandparents.I have no problem with having my sons live with me.It's what I always wanted. It was his decision that they live with him,I had no choice in the matter(if you know where I come from).
Now that I have two of my boys with me,who are overstayers, due to lack of communication and information,I am in an extremely difficuly situation.
I have applied to Immigration for them to be granted IL as I myself have ROA,my parent is British.Had I known that they were coming to live with me,my application would have been made while they were abroad and there would not have been a probem. Now,the fact is,they are overstayers and illegal and canot rely on public funds.I can understand the intricacies of similar situations but because I care for my daughter almost 24/0 ,it puts a strain on my finances.Where do I stand regarding financial help for the two extra mouths I have to feed? The younger of my sons in in high school as this is a requirement even without public funds and the elder has enrolled in a non paying college class for foreign students.
Is there financial help for myself without relying on public funds directy?
