I am a white, 30 year old female. I also have a felony conviction on my record. No one knows the kinds of problems this causes. I can't find a job and in a few months I'm going to lose my apartment. Does anyone know of companies that will hire felons that pay decently? I don't need bags of money but enough for me to pay for an apartment that is safe would be amazing. I don't have kids and pretty much used all my friends and family up. I can't take anymore from them. And PLEASE don't say ask your PO, he has been useless. He provided me with a website Hard2hire.com It's only a scam, they pull listings from other job sites to list so when you get an interview they have no idea where you found out about the job and then they won't hire you. I have also looked at Section 8 vouchers and the waiting lists are several years away. What other resources are out there that can help someone who HAS screwed up and what's DESPERATELY to do the right thing now? Any advice, websites or companies that WILL hire with a felony conviction will be most helpful. I live in Texas, Dallas/Fort Worth Area Thanks

No one knows the kinds of problems this causes. Hello g:

Ohhhh, yes I do...

When I was in your shoes, I did one of two things. (1) I never treated my prospective employer as a social agency.. In other words, I never asked him to give me a break. When I went to the interview, I was the one giving HIM a break by considering him. No, I wasn't cocky... I KNEW that I had a service that he needed, and I KNEW how to sell him. Once the business was taken care of, I mentioned my personal problem. But, by then he wanted me so much, that it didn't matter. (2) When I couldn't find a job, I went into business for myself. People don't do background checks on companies they hire like they do for employees they hire.
