I was wondering, as I have a very unusual surname, does it have any special religious meaning, as I know it is fairly common in the middle east among all religious groups, but very uncommon in the west, or is it simply a name without any religious meaning popular in the Middle East?
My surname is Masrori

I've seen it spelled Masrory. Do you know its religious background?

Yes I have an aunt who spells it Masrory (but Persian tradition is that surnames often ends with I), I have no idea about its religious background, according to Google translate it translates to "happy" in Persian and "pleased" in Arabic, but I don't think that automatically means it's a Muslim name as it doesn't really have any religious meaning and I have heard of Baha'i people having the name as well
It could just be a Persian/Arabic surname without any religious meaning, but I am not sure, so this is why I ask

I'm betting you are correct. There's no religious meaning or background, but it's simple ethnic/cultural.
I hope you are usually "pleased" and "happy."
