After looking at the file of the song I wanted to use, it says it's an .m4a
So I guess my new question would be, can I convert that into an mp3? And what exactly is a m4a?
----------
Old question:
Does anyone know where I can find a mp4 to mp3 converter?
I've tried looking on download.com but I haven't found anything.
I need one because Windows Movie Maker doesn't allow me to import mp4 files.

I assume you are aware a mp4 is a video + audio file... and a mp3 is purely an audio file.

I did not!
So that would mean there is no converter?
Oh geez.

THe m4a isn't even a mp4 file. But a simple search found this. Hope it will do what you are after. And its free from a reputable source.

There is also a very good one that starts as a trial and then reverts to free after a bit, called dbpoweramp music converter. Their page also links to extra codecs for handling other formats and there is also an all in one bundle of codecs you can get.
