I am living in a bi-level house. Drains on the main level and the top level are working just

Fine, but I am having some problems with my basement drains. One time, my basement

Toilet got stuck and my sister flushed the toilet from the top level, and then, there was a

Flood in the basement toilet. Water overwhelmed from the toilet and wet my basement

Floor. So my family kept the basement toilet usage to minimum but just recently, the

Shower drain in the basement bathroom became extremely slow. Whenever I take a

Shower, water filles up to my ankle and it drains very slowly. Moreover, I am suspecting

Bathroom sink drain also, but we do not use it too often so I can't be too sure. One thing

Another thing that I find odd is that my laundry sink drain is all right even though it is also

Located in the basement. Thank you for your time.

Showers clog up with rotting hair matted with grease. The best way to clear it is by snaking the shower drain. Let me show you how.
First remove the strainer,(TIP: put the screws in the soap dish. They will be hard to replace if they go down the drain.) Now work your snake past the trap and 6 or 7 feet beyond. When you pull the snake back it should have the hair that was clogging your shower on the auger tip. Now pour 1/4 gallon of bleach down in the trap and let it set over night. Next morning pour a pan of boiling down the shower to clear what's left and make your drain smell nice.
Good luck, Tom
