I have never traveled alone before so I have no idea how this works. Are there generally taxis already at the airport waiting for travelers or do I have to call one when I land? Do they usually know where to wait for you?

And what about enterprise? I noticed on their website they don't let your drop off at a different location than where you picked up unless the two spots are airports. Are their ever exceptions?

There are Shuttle Van services (cheaper than cabs) as well as the Cabs. Depending on the distance you would have to travel. There are also other rental companies than enterprise... if its outside the area a shuttle van will travel I would give them a call and ask.
