Hello, I have a 500 ft well with a 1 HP pump (220V - 2 wire). Twice now, I've had to pull up the pump to replace the wiring, which had chafed open. This is ostensibly caused by the pump torquing when it switches on, and the effect on the pipe and wires is to rub against the drilled hole, eventually opening up the wire. Both times, we used spacers, and taped the wire snugly to the pipe every 6 feet. Is there some other method or will I be pulling up the pipe in another 5 years?
Thanks for any help!
Chris
