We need more background here to be able to advise you. How old is your daughter? Why was there no contact? How was contact initiated?

Not seen my daughter for 15yrs she's 17 now, I didn't get on with her mum and towards end of relationship it wasn't nice and she moved away and I didn't know were to start looking. Now were in contact threw fb I made initial contact and everything was going great with us emailing for hrs, but lately things have slowed down,I don't want to be pushy. What do I do?

This is a tough one. She's 17, so she's flighty to begin with. It may be that she's not sure about how to proceed. She may be afraid to get too attached to you, only to have you taken from her again.

Personally, I'd send her an email, be straightforward, ask if something's wrong. Tell her that you care about her and would like a relationship with her, but you want to go at her pace. She gets to set the ground rules.

I hope it all works out and that you can finally have a relationship with your daughter.

Best of luck to you both. :)

When people reconnect after a long period they often have a lot to say, but once they catch up it starts to wane. This may be the situation.

Does she blame you for abandoning her at all? Is she made at her mother for taking her father away? Does she have a stepdad?
