I have a JCB video camera, but it only records for a maximum of about 4hours, and I need soemthing to record for around 8hours, and it needs to have quite a good memory.
Can someone help me, give me advice on what kind of equipment I could use.
But I need soemthing what is inexpensive.

I have a JVC - it came highly recommended, I love it, I use it for work. Great quality and 8 hours. I DO carry a spare battery and charger but I've never used them.
What do you consider expensive or inexpensive?

Hello W:
If you just want to do family stuff with it, then Judy is right on. But, if you want to do SECURITY stuff with it, like watch your nanny, then you need something specific.

You are right - she wants to record paranormal activity. I don't know if spirits know what camcorders are so I don't know if the camera needs to be hidden or not.
- Sigh -

Judy :O How did you know I wanted it to record paranormal activity?
But yes I do. My camera is JCB and it was about £300 I got it 2 or 3 years ago for christmas and it is a very good camera, I love it. Unfortunately it won't record for longer than 4hours 33mins, which is annoying as I want it to document everything, including the whole night whilst I sleep.
Also I don't know what inexpensive and expensive is to me. Urrr well I'm 13, so something I can afford ?
And do either of you know, if I buy a webcam would that work? Because someone advised it, but I wasn't convinced it would be good enough?

Because I read your other threads, not an uncommon occurrence when someone is trying to get some understanding of the question. Or else I'm psychic.
I have no idea what you can or cannot afford. My camera was over $700.
A webcam takes video of a much smaller area. A camcorder takes a video of a larger area.
I have no idea if you can afford $700. Can't you borrow a camera?

Ohhh well that makes sense.
Urmmm well I can't afford a $700 camera to be honest. About £100... £200 at the most for me. It will take me two monthes to save £200.
Urmmm I'm not sure if I can borrow one, I will ask around, but I will need it for about a month at the least, so hopefully someone will lend me it.
And the webcam, would you know if it would pick up sound as well as the visual side of it? I only need that so I can have it watching me at night, but if I did just get a webcam, would it record for 8hours would you know... also I know it depends what one I get, so would you know which one ot advise to me?
