My book for my 1991 Pontiac transport seems to be missing some important info and I am hoping for some help. My front heater/ blower motor won't turn on when I push the button; however, when I tapped the housing under my radio - it free'd up something and it would begin to turn. I am convinced its not a short but maybe some debris or rust or something.
Here is the issue: My Haines book shows me the access to the housing and motor is from the engine compartment. Accepting that this is true [it is] then what is this monstrosity of housing, vacuum hoses, and controllers that is under my dash? What is this large, seeming self contained, box? What is it called? How do I access - remove it? When I tap on the corner - what is inside that could possibly cause it to 'release' the fan? No fan part is in there right? What is in there? Where might I find a blowout diagram of it and its internal functions/parts? Finally, in order to seek images and more information - WHAT IS THIS THING CALLED? It is just not in my book.My front blower motor won't turn on when I push the button; however, when I tapped the housing under my radio - it free'd up something and it would begin to turn.
