My sister is having kitchen faucet problems she says sometimes when she turns on the water nothing will come out but she can go back in an hour and it works fine... Its been doing this for a month or so... if anyone has any insight to this problem please lets me know cause she can not afford a plumber. Thanks Rusty

Hi Rusty...

I can't say for sure, especially not knowing anything (name brand, how many handles, spray or no spray, etc.) about the faucet in question, but it could be that the SPRAY DIVERTER is getting stuck... problem with that is that the spray diverter is usually located in a tough spot to get too... ;)

It would be in the valve body, usually under the spout assembly that pulls up and off the faucet... around the rear in most cases. Once you find it you would pull it out and clean it or even replace it, if possible.

With that being said, if the faucet is an older faucet I would just suggest replacing it with a new $70.00 MOEN faucet... super easy to install and come with lietime warranty on parts.

In my experience, it can take more time to run new parts down than to simply replace an older faucet, so may be a good time to purchase your sister an early birthday or xmas (or hanukkuh) present... :)

Back to you...

Mark

If you're getting water from a well, verify that the check valve and/or foot valve are still funtional. This prevents the water from draining back into your well. You may also have air coming into your pipes. This may be caused by a ruptured pipe which affect your water pressure.
