My kitchen faucet groans when using either the hot or cold taps. Is this a sign of air in the line and if so how do I purge it out?

Hi Kobikobi...

Nope... not a sign of air in the lines. If that was the case, you would probably be having issues at all the faucets... ;)

Here, most likely the faucet is getting old or at least the parts inside are experiencing friction or a part has loosened... that kind of stuff.

If the faucet is real old then you may just want to consider replacing the entire faucet, but if it is a newer faucet then you may be able to disassemble and make repairs... many newer faucets (5 years or less) have lifetime warranties on parts/finish.

If you can provide a name brand from the faucet and an approximate age of the faucet I may be able to tell you more, maybe?

Back to you...

Mark

Bad news, there's no identifying information as to what brand faucet it is. Crazy, right? It must have been installed when the house was built around '04 or '05. It's probably a very cheap, low cost faucet because it's definitely nothing fancy. I probably just need to upgrade.

You could always try to disassemble and repair, but if you do choose a new faucet, go with a MOEN, KOHLER or DELTA as these guys have lifetime warranties and will replace parts up to and including the entire faucet if needed... just be sure to keep the paperwork in a filing cabinet/folder... ;)

Moen has easiest warranty to work with... just call 1800BUYMOEN

Good luck!
