I wanted to see if anyone knew. I am currently living with my girlfriend in WV right minutes from the PA border but I have kept my address and license at my mothers in PA since I enlisted in the Army. Is it legal for me to do this. I mean technically I could just say I live with my mother and spend time at my girlfriends house right? I just don't want to go through the trouble of changing everything to WV (when we only rent and its in her name)when I plan on moving back to PA eventually anyway. So should I just keep using my mothers Address for insurance and License etc.?

What is your legal residence? What address do you use on tax forms, payroll forms? That is the address where you need to obtain a driver's license.
I'm a liability investigator. I see tickets issued all the time (following accidents) when the Police learn that someone lives in a "new" State for more than 6 months but never changes his/her address to that new State.

If you are in the military, and your station is where you are now living, they have special rules that did allow them to keep their drivers license and cars registered at their "HOME" state and address.
But unless you qualify for this, once you have moved and lived there over a specific time ( 30 to 90 days depending on state) your drivers license from the state you moved from is no longer legally valid. So if the police catch you or somehow it is found out, you may find yourself with a suspended drivers license.
Also the same with your car tags, you have a limited number of days to transfer your car or that is also invalid.
And the most dangerous, if you have a wreck and the accident or insurance investigators prove you were not living where your insurance is listed, they may try and claim fraud and deny the claim. ** remember your premium is based on where you live, so the price is different in each location.
