So last summer I'm on my way to Galveston and I have no cold air. Then after about 20 minutes, the air is cold. The air blows nice and strong. Throughout the summer some days would have cold air, some days not at all. Just nice strong slightly warm air. When it did blow cold it wasn't as cold as say my husband's truck. Winter came.. had nice hot air. Now I'm having the same deal sort of... this spring I have had no cold air whatsoever, so I decided to recharge it. We recharged it... nothing. Except today. After driving for an hour with the air on max, I get cold air. I drive it just now... no cold air. Can someone guide me and work with me on what I can try next or am I going to have to break down and blow some money at the auto shop?

It would be best to take it to a shop. They have the right equiptment to deal with it. You could have a clogged condenser or something could be going on with the compressor. They can check that for you.

This link should provide some valuable guidance:

Most compressors last about 100,000 miles.

You may have other issues.
I would perform a software update and if that didn't work I'd attempt manipulating the blend doors to see if they're cooperating with what the HVAC Contol Module is "asking" the doors to do. There is a bulletin regarding your concern but without having the vehicle in front of me, I cannot tell if it actually applies. Your local shop needs to get their hands on your truck for some testing.
Bulletin No.: 04-01-39-007
Date: June 17, 2004
Subject:
Loss Of HVAC System Mode and/or Temperature Control (Replace HVAC Control Module)
