My shower diverter is stripped and I need to replace it. I have removed the knob but cannot get the diverter unscrewed so I can replace it. It will turn and feels like it is unscrewing but it does not come loose. How can I get this off?

Hi Klhaire...

What is the name brand on the shower valve?

Back to you...

Mark,

Thank you for responding. I am afraid I don't know what kind of faucet it is. We rent and this an old house. I believe it was built in the 40's and I don't know how old the plumbing is. I wish I could give you more information. Thank you, anyway for trying to help.

There is a knob for hot water, one for cold water, and the diverter is in the middle of them. My camera isn't working so I am not able to post a picture.
